Carlo Revello: An Impressive Introduction to Barolo...
Barolo is one of the world’s most prized reds. It is a ‘grail’ wine, a must-try on any wine lover’s journey, rich in heritage and tradition, and second-generation vintner Carlo Revello was born to make it, Says Jesper Kjaersgaard. Shop Carlo Revello e Figli wines in our Barolo portfolio.
Carlo Revello was born in La Morra. For the uninitiated (don’t worry, you’ll soon catch up), that’s Barolo HQ. It has the largest proportion of Nebbiolo-planted vineyards in the Barolo DOCG, and it was here that Revello’s father Giacomo first vinified a small portion of the family’s harvest, usually reserved for selling. It was exceptional, and thus the family established the eponymous Giovanni Revello e Figli Estate.

The Carlo Revello Lineup
In 1990, Carlo and his brother Enzo took control of their father’s estate and started bottling wines under their Fratelli Revello label. They now had a portfolio of impressive parcels in several of La Morra’s most notable crus, including Giachini, Conca dell’Annunziata, Gattera, and Rocche dell’Annunziata (a ‘crown jewel’ holding, and one of La Morra’s shining stars).
As in 1990, so in 2016, when Carlo and Enzo decided to make space for the new generation and split, 50/50, what was Fratelli Revello. Alongside his oldest son Erik, Carlo established Carlo Revello e Figli, retaining the outstanding Giachini and Rocche crus for the newly forged estate. This is a range that sees familial heritage and tradition meet fresh ideas and approachability.
Carlo Revello e Figli wines are an impressive introduction to the legendary wines of Barolo, crafted with little artifice and showcasing La Morra terroir with all the grace and elegance so prized in wines from this pocket of the DOCG. Langton’s is proud to offer it to you exclusively.
