Langton’s Adventures in Wine
30 March - Tasting at Domaine Comte George de Vogüé with Francois Millet
Langton’s Head of Buying, Tom Portet, is currently in France with Andrew Caillard MW, visiting some of the great Domaines and Chateaux of Burgundy and Bordeaux that Langton’s is proud to be working with.
“With vineyard holdings to die for, in Musigny and Bonnes-Mares, those in charge at Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé do not wear their responsibility lightly.” Decanter Magazine
Recognised as one of the great estates of Burgundy and arguably the world, François Millet exudes the quiet confidence of a man that understands every aspect of his vineyards and their requirements. Coxing the vineyards to create exquisite wines, that showcase the beauty, elegance and intensity that is Chambolle Musigny. As well as custodian to over 500 years of history, Francois is also doing tremendous work in Central Otago, where Prophet Rock winemaker Paul Pujol and he have joined forces to create ‘Prophets Rock Cuvee Aux Antipodes’. Harnessing the beauty and quintessence of Otago's Bendigo sub–region without interruption or interference. Sadly with too little made, it sold out within minutes of release.
And with this extraordinary tasting, Tom bids farewell to Burgundy and moves to the grandeur of Bordeaux next.
