Langton’s Adventures in Wine
5 April - Chateau Pichon Longueville
Langton’s Head of Buying, Tom Portet, is currently in France with Andrew Caillard MW, visiting some of the great Domaines and Chateaux of Burgundy and Bordeaux that Langton’s is proud to be working with.
Passport to Pleasure - the tasting at Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de La-lande looking at the 2016 vintages wines. The estate was classified as one of fifteen Deuxièmes Crus (Second Growths) in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. Today it’s considered one of the ‘Super Seconds’ for the tremendous quality that it exudes.
The part ‘Comtesse’ in the name is quite fitting, as it has a higher proportion of Merlot for a Pauillac wine it tends to make the wine a more ‘feminine’, less tannic style.
The Vintage has been astounding Tom and Andrew and garnering some serious praise within the world’s wine circles. Watch this space for more details…
