Charles Rousseau, who passed away at 93 in 2016, purchased his first parcel of Clos de Bèze in late 1961 and the family acquired more plots in 1989 and 1992; this last purchase almost doubling their holding. With 1.42ha, they are now the second-largest owner of this fabled vineyard whose history dates back to 630.
