Made from 95% Mourvèdre and 5% Grenache, the Tardieu-Laurent Bandol is not necessarily what you’d expect from Provence. It is incredibly expressive, with intense savoury characteristics. Notes of tobacco and garrigue, with a dry, long finish.
As one of the leading négociants in the Rhône, Maison Tardieu-Laurent have access to some of the most established old vines in the region. Tardieu-Laurent handpick the producers whose fruit finds its way into all of their wines, thus producing exemplary expressions of Rhône terroir at all tiers.
"Very deep purplish crimson. Not very expressive at the moment; the nose is almost raw! But it is intensely focused. So ambitious ... this isn’t a relaxed lie on a sunbed in Provence but a muscular athlete training in a gym. Very savoury – meat and two veg."
