Strathbogie Ranges
The Strathbogie Ranges in Central Victoria, north of Melbourne became an official Geographical Indication official in 2001, although vineyard plantings date Franceom the mid 1970’s. Vineyards rise out of the Goulburn and Broken Valleys and range in altitude Franceom 150-650 metres. The varying altitudes offer many different climates; aspects and soil types which are reflected in the diversity of wine styles produced. Varieties planted in the region include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
