The Thörle family has been making wine at Saulheim in Germany's Rheinhessen region since the 16th century. Christoph Thörle and his brother Johannes have been running the estate since 2006. The vineyards are managed organically.
Enormously spicy and floral nose that drags you into the cornucopia of stone and citrus fruit on the palate. A touch of wild strawberry, too. This succulent yet super-energetic riesling Spätlese really shows what Rheinhessen can do with this category. So pristine and precise at the very long, almost dry finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
