Traditionally this wine is declassified Brunello with characteristics quite similar to Brunello. Calling it a baby Brunello might be a step too far as the freshness and fruit aromas are given centre stage.
The 100% Sangiovese fruit is sourced from vineyards that are 400 metres above sea level and planted on sea ??sand mixed with various minerals. The juice is vinified in steel tanks with continuous cap management for the first 2 days. Fermentation lasts about three weeks prior to being aged in 22 days in 25 oak barrels for eight months and aged in bottle for another six months.
