Peter Edge is a character with an impressive career behind him. He was a winemaker at Petaluma before crossing the Bass Strait to work for Bay of Fires, later helped reinvent the Meadowbank brand. Dr Edge is Peter Dredge’s breakout project where he has made a name for himself a gun winemaker of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The East Chardonnay comes from a single vineyard on the east coast of Tasmania. It’s a modern Chardoanny showing great presence, it’s fragrant, textural and powerful.
This is the most rugged and textural of the trio of Chardonnay from 2019. More fruit and weight, chalky texture, slight bitterness of lemon rind, white peach and other citrus, good length and a zesty finish. A little whiff of struck match here too. Precise but slightly rough around the edges. Will improve with more time in bottle.

Made identically to the other single site offerings, fruit from Hazards Vineyard owned by Brown Brothers. Good tension to this, steely, brisk acidity and linear in shape. It's infused with lemon barley water, a squirt of lemon juice, aniseed and pure flavours. Incredibly tight and refreshing.

Light, bright yellow hue, the bouquet faintly cashew-nutty and creamy lees tinged, the palate is very frisky and alive with zesty acidity, which makes the mouth water. The finish is refreshingly crisp and dry. A really superb chardonnay.
