The fruit for this McLaren Vale Shiraz is sourced from four blocks–130-year-old, 80-year-old with the other two being 20-30-year-old. Fermented with whole berries in open-fermenters separately and raised in new French oak (50%) hogsheads for 20 months.
'The Yeoman is a statement of the best wine from an outstanding vintage, be it the Shiraz from 2016 or something else in future vintages. We won’t make it every year; we’ll only make it when it’s right to make it.'
Bec Hardy
Deep red/purple colour, with a very rich, complex bouquet that incorporates mixed spices, pepper, toasty oak and roasted nuts while the palate is very intense, full-bodied and concentrated, with lots of flesh, savouryness and ample tannins, which are supple and gently drying. Lush flavour with long-term potential.
