Another outstanding wine from the Brand Grand Cru, this is grown on granitic soils at an elevation of 380 metres. Fermented using native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, the wine is then aged on fine yeats lees which imparts richness and depth. Gold yellow in colour, delicate violet and lemon aromas waft from the glass, while the dry, mineral-accented palate keeps you coming back for more.

This properly dry Alsace Riesling Grand Cru has tons of smoke, Amalfi lemon and a touch of honeycomb on the expansive yet subtle nose. I love the focus and clarity on the concentrated palate. Very long and structured wet-stone finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.

A fascinatingly complex wine that walks a tightrope of finesse and power. A taunting gyroscope of flavours: grapefruit, roasted spelt flour, rapier-sharp green apple, the spice and orange sweetness of choisya flowers, the tang of rye sourdough starter. There is something whole-wheat-seedy-grainy savoury and wholesome and earthed about the baseline of this wine, and then a high-wired citrus-bladed focus and precision which whips through the wine like a cold wind that takes the breath away. And then, as if that never happened, the end is a trail of flowers, a daisy chain of dancing prettiness.
