Fifty-two months on lees and disgorged Feb '20. A very smart fizz. It flirts with flint and citrus, baked biscuit and grilled nuts. And the flavours build across the palate: white nectarine, citrus and lemon curd with more complex aged characters of nougat and shortbread. Neat acidity ensures the volume isn't cranked to up too high. Moreish and satisfying.

Bright, light to mid-yellow colour, with good effervescence. The aromas are beguiling: creamy, bready yeast notes overlying lemony fruit, with subtle touches of snuffed candle and roasted nuts. Good intensity and amplitude across the palate; very dry, with a subtle trace of grip, the finish clean and moreish. Excellent wine. (52 months on lees, disgorged in Feb 2020)

A dense and rich prestige cuvée with intense, bread-dough, cooked-apple and pear character on the nose and palate. Compact and very rich with so much going on. Full body. Solid, creamy center palate.

This is the top cuvée from Mumm, named after René Lalou who ran Mumm after World War II. Perfectly mature, this blend of Grand Cru fruit from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims is well poised and balanced. The nutty character that comes through and that indicates maturity is still not completely dominant, leaving room for ripe fruits, good acidity and a mineral-textured aftertaste. Drink the wine now although it could well age further.
