Winemaker Larry Cherubino of Cherubino wines is known for bringing a deft hand to the trophy varieties of Western Australia, and the Clonal Selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a predictably impressive expression. Deep, evocative, and classical in style, it is a showcase of masterful Cabernet craftsmanship.
Made with hand-harvested fruit, the Clonal Selection Cabernet is a mouth-filling affair from the get go. Raspberries, unctuous dark cherry, and cedary oak are all there, framed by beautifully resolved velvety tannins.
Clonal selection from the esteemed Riversdale Vineyard. 12 months in seasoned French oak. An iridescent ruby in the glass. Saturated in flavour and packed with fine, chalky tannins that provide substance and structure for the sweet fruit. There is so much going on here that 2nd and 3rd sips are needed. The tannins and the fruit are generous, chewy and expansive. This bottle could evaporate in a moment. A ruminating wine and a showpiece for Frankland River pedigree.
