Epicureans assemble. You’re invited to trek the world of wine, and travel back in time, all from the comfort of Quay’s Upper Tower overlooking Sydney Harbour. At this once-in-a-lifetime experience, hosted by icon of Australian wine David Bicknell, you’ll be treated to 11 incredible wines (valued at over $45,000) complemented by a bespoke five-course menu by Quay with canapés on arrival. About your host

David Bicknell

 

Your host for the evening is industry veteran, Burgundy aficionado and icon of Australian wine, David Bicknell.

 

Officially, Bicknell's extensive accolades include Dux of the Len Evans Tutorial (2005) and Gourmet Traveller Winemaker of the Year (2017). Unofficially, he may lay claim to the title of having tasted more DRC than any other Australian. Throughout his career, Bicknell has thrived as Oakridge Chief Winemaker (since 2002), worked vintages in Burgundy, Alsace and Beaujolais, and enjoyed many years of show judging. Recently, Bicknell led Oakridge in being named Winery of the Year in The Real Review’s Top Wineries of Australia 2023, No.1 winery in Halliday Wine Companion Top 100 Wineries 2023 and Best Value Winery of the Year in the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards.
