About this wine
A rich full-bodied Chardonnay, the fruit is sourced off the east-facing Block 2 on the Elm vineyard. The grapes are whole bunch pressed and flow by gravity to barrel in the underground cellar. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in French oak of which only a minor component is new. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation with periodic battonage and matures for 17 months in barrel. Block 2 is not fined or filtered.

Felton Road
Felton Road is a premium wine producer in New Zealand’s Central Otago region. Established in 1991, the estate owns 32 ha of vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region. Since 2010 all three vineyards; Calvert, Cornish Point and the Elms have achieved full Demeter biodynamic certification. Best known for their highly sought after Block 3 and Block 5 Pinot Noirs, Felton Road also produces several styles of Riesling and Chardonnay.
