Campbell Mattinson
Overt whole-bunch aromas/flavours tumble through black cherry, plum, sweet herb and roasted nut flavours. There’s a whole lot of joy to be had here but only if you’re a fan of bunchy, mescal-infused versions of shiraz. The fruit here is alive with freshness, the tannin so grapey it feels (in a positive sense) raw. Smoky, cadwarwood oak plays a role here too, and a complementary one. This takes on the bunch-driven style of shiraz with gusto. It works for me and quite wonderfully so, but then this is my style of red.

Deep to almost opaque purple colour. Black fruits, bramble and sea-spray aromatics. Medium to full on the palate, with dark fruit concentration contrasting a bunchy green herb note. Good flow and silken tannins take it long.
