About this wine
G.H.MUMM 4.5 Ans Brut, Champagne
RSRV Cuvée 4.5 is a unique blend of five of Maison Mumm’s Grand Cru terroirs. Pinot Noir – from Verzenay, Aÿ and Bouzy – confers power, structure, and fresh, generous aromas. Chardonnay – from Cramant and Avize – lends elegance, liveliness, and tangy citrus notes. The grapes are pressed and vinified separately before being blended with reserve wines. For all culminating with the dosage liqueur – a light dosage of 6 grams per litre – is sourced from these same Grand Cru terroirs. Produced in limited quantities, this Champagne ages for a minimum of four years in the cellars before it is ready to be enjoyed. An initial impression of fresh notes of white and yellow fruit, developing into fruit marmalade, honey, nougat and vanilla. A hint of roasted coffee and mocha. A frank, lively attack, gradually developing into fullness. A complex, harmonious, gourmet Champagne.

Buttered toast, oyster shells, croissants, dried lemons and spiced pears on the nose. Layered and very well balanced, with bright acidity and fine bubbles. Delicious interplay of citrus and pastry. Disgorged in February 2022. Drink now.

A young Champagne, full of fruitiness, apples and citrus with a textured character, this is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. The wine is delightful, floral and ready to drink.

Minerally smoke and oyster shell notes on the nose of this lushly creamy Champagne accent flavors of juicy melon, toasted brioche, crystallized honey and lemon curd. The rich flavor profile is finely balanced by racy, citrus peel acidity, and the finish echoes a hint of dried lemon thyme. Disgorged September 2016. Drink now through 2025.

Disgorged in May 2019, the latest release of Mumm's NV Brut RSRV Cuvée 4.5 is based on the the 2012 vintage. Offering up an expressive bouquet of fresh peach, green apple, honeycomb, orange oil and warm bread, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and vibrant, with racy acids, a generous core of fruit and chalky back-end grip. The mousse is still a little frothy after its recent disgorgement, but this is a fine effort.
