Straight-shooting Carricante, this is a fuller weighted, texturally endowed expression that demonstrates why many commentators perceive the whites from this volcanic turf to be on a higher plane than the reds. White flower, camomile, orange balm, dried tatami straw and lemon oil, stampede across an undercarriage of pungent volcanic mineral with no paucity of chew at the seams. A wine that has little to do with obvious fruit, so far away from the New World paradigm is it. Conversely, it is a wine of thrilling complexity defined by a moreishness, sapidity and stunning length.
