About this wine
Grosset Polish Hill Riesling is top of Australia's aromatic wine genre. The wines have incredible perfume and fruit purity, the lime, floral fruit profile is balanced by a fine indelible cut of acidity. An uncomplicated winemaking approach and a focus on “purity of fruit” are essential philosophical elements. After destemming “the small thick-skinned yellow-tinged berries are simply split with only the free run juice being used”. After cold-settling at 2°C, the slightly hazy juice is decanted into inert fermentation vessels “to ensure purity of fruit expression” during vinification. Once the ferment is completed the wine is allowed to settle on yeast lees for a few months to achieve complexity and richness of flavour, but without losing “the inherent fruit characters and integrity of the terroir."Polish Hill Riesling has a great track record for cellaring, maintaining a lovely freshness and beauty throughout its life.
