Barossa shiraz is wonderfully hedonistic. Ripe dark fruits, cupboards of spice, and swathes of earthy texture only begins to describe Australia’s most popular wine. You can’t have too much of a good thing, especially with the festive season fast approaching. So why not enjoy a bit of Barossa brilliance, and save yourself $440?
In this dozen you’ll find:
9 x Hare’s Chase Ironscraper Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2019 (RRP $35)
1 x Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium Shiraz Cabernet Merlot, Barossa 2021 (RRP $65)
1 x Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz, Barossa 2014 (RRP $230)
1 x Yalumba The Octavius Old Vine Shiraz, Barossa 2017 (RRP $160)
This dozen centres on the 2019 Hare’s Chase Ironscraper, a crowd pleasing, powerhouse shiraz from Marananga. The 2021 Henschke Keyneton Estate Euphonium was awarded 94-points, by Dave Brookes of Halliday Wine Companion, and applauded for its density and length. Ned Goodwin MW gave 97-points to the 2017 Yalumba The Octavius saying ‘This is a thrilling wine. There are no two ways about it. While the 2014 Grant Burge Meshach won 94-points from Huon Hooke who admired its complexity, ample tannins, and impressive plushness.
