Founded in 1776 Louis Roederer is a family owned Grande Marques Champagne house based in Reims, widely recognized as one of Champagne’s best houses. In 1876 Louis Roederer II crafted an exclusive prestige Champagne for the Tsar named ‘Cristal’, and for many years the house was the official supplier to the Imperial Court of Russia. The house owns 240 ha of vineyards throughout the region comprised of 410 separate parcels. Fruit is also sourced from a number of contract growers. The house of Louis Roederer makes several non-vintage cuvées including the extra dry Brut Premier, Grand Vin Sec and the Demi-sec Carte Blanche. The vintage cuvées include the Brut Vintage, Rosé Vintage and vintage Blanc de Blancs. The prestige cuvée Cristal, approximately an equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot noir, is also available as a rosé.
