ABOUT THE WINERY
Mount Pleasant
The historic Mount Pleasant vineyard was established in 1921 by Maurice O’ Shea, the legendary winemaker and father of wine in the Hunter Valley. The vineyard is found in Pokolbin in the Lower Hunter, NSW. In 1941 the McWilliams family bought Mt Pleasant Estate keeping O’Shea on as winemaker. It is in 1967 that Mount Pleasant produces the first Elizabeth Semillon, a more approachable Semillon with age ability. Wines produced include Semillon and Shiraz, which excel in the Hunter Valley, as well as Verdehlo, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, ranging from premium Flagship to everyday favourites
