About this wine

Mount Pleasant Mountain C Light Bodied Dry Red, Hunter Valley

The Mountain Range wines pay homage to Maurice O'Shea's talent as a master blender. He had an astounding ability to make and recognise small unique parcels. And depending on what style they were, light-bodied, medium-bodied or full-bodied, O'Shea gave each of them different code names: Mountain C, Mountain A and Mountain D.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Mount Pleasant
The historic Mount Pleasant vineyard was established in 1921 by Maurice O’ Shea, the legendary winemaker and father of wine in the Hunter Valley. The vineyard is found in Pokolbin in the Lower Hunter, NSW. In 1941 the McWilliams family bought Mt Pleasant Estate keeping O’Shea on as winemaker. In 1945 the iconic single vineyards, Lovedale and Rosehill vineyards were planted, they go on to become some of the best Semillon and Shiraz this country has to offer, pure expressions of the Hunter Valley. It is in 1967 that Mount Pleasant produces the first Elizabeth Semillon, a more approachable Semillon with age ability. Wines produced include Semillon and Shiraz, which excel in the Hunter Valley, as well as Verdehlo, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon, ranging from premium Flagship to everyday favourites
