RIESLINGFREAK Dry collection 6-pack 2023 Case
About this wine
Rieslingfreak Dry Collection
Rieslingfreak is a winery for the true believers, those that adhere to the manifesto that the fresh, mineral perfection of a glass of great Riesling is akin to a religious experience. No arguments from us. Presenting a 6-pack featuring two bottles apiece of Rieslingfreak’s captivating 2022 releases, just in time for the season we want to drink it most. These will sell like hot cakes… or, more accurately, like cool, crisp Riesling on a balmy spring evening. Clear the fridge!
In this half-dozen compendium, you will find a duo of each new release bottling. First up, No. 2 Polish Hill River. A cheering glass of butter-yellow sunshine abundant in white floral aromas, soft, long and dry. Next, the No.3 hailing from Clare Valley. Pale yellow, with glints of green, you’ll enjoy perfumes of lime zest and a fruit-filled palate with a slight off-dry note that ends clean and pure. Closing out the selection is the No. 4 from Eden Valley. Light and bright in colour, mouth-filling and rich on the palate, it really showcases the versatility of the variety.

Rieslingfreak was founded by winemaker John Hughes.
The inaugural vintage was 2009 with a single vineyard Clare Valley Riesling. After that, the Rieslingfreak portfolio expanded to include the Eden Valley and Polish Hill River regions, showing dry, off-dry, Kabinett, sparkling and fortified styles. Each wine is given a number to denote region and style.
‘Our philosophy is to represent the hallmarks of a single region…’
John Hughes, Rieslingfreak
In 2016, John was a Young Gun of Wine finalist. He followed that with a clean sweep of the 2017 Royal Sydney Wine Show, winning five trophies–including Best in Show, the first time a Riesling had taken the gong since 2003. After a lifetime in the vineyard and eight years of graft, John Hughes became an overnight success. John is now considered to be amongst the great Riesling makers in Australia, taking the wine to new audiences and raising the standard for the industry.
