Shaw & Smith Balhannah Vineyard Adelaide Hills Shiraz
First released in 2013, Balhannah Vineyard Adelaide Hills Shiraz is a complex wine with a floral nose and a wonderfully textured palate.
Handpicked, sorted and fermented as whole berries and whole bunches in open fermenters, with gentle plunging and minimal working. Aged in 500-litre French oak puncheons for 14 months, followed by a further 14 months in bottle.

Shaw & Smith
Cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill- Smith collaborated on a dream to make their own wine; this became a reality in 1989. This was an illustrious union, Michael Hill Smith was the first Australian to pass the rigorous Master of Wine exam and Martin Shaw is a winemaker with extensive international experience. Shaw and Smith is a premium boutique winery that focuses on site, quality fruit and varieties that excel in the cool Adelaide Hills. The wines they produce include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, cool climate Shiraz and Pinot Noir. They practice sustainability in the vineyard and have a fully equipped winery giving them control over every step of production from fruit reception to bottling. They own their vineyards in Adelaide Hills and have recently purchased the Tolpuddle Vineyard in Southern Tasmania to further reinforce their cool climate direction. They also have a second label called Incognito.
