Sons of Eden Eurus Cabernet, Eden Valley

Sons of Eden focuses on the distinct sub-regions of the Barossa, with Eurus representing the pinnacle of their Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit is sourced from a single vineyard located 480 metres above sea level. These cooler, elevated conditions allow for a longer ripening period compared to the valley floor. This results in a wine defined by its structural integrity and varietal lift.

Winemakers Corey Ryan and Simon Cowham employ traditional techniques to preserve the site's identity. The grapes undergo fermentation in small, five-tonne open vessels with regular plunging to manage tannin extraction. The wine matures for 20 months in a combination of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads.

The nose offers scents of blackcurrant, dried herbs and pencil shavings. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and shows flavours of blackberry and dark chocolate. Fine tannins provide a persistent framework, resulting in a clean, savoury finish. It is a compelling choice for collectors seeking the elegance and longevity of cool-climate South Australian Cabernet.
