About this wine
Altos de Lanzaga is Telmo Rodriguez’s flagship Rioja. A Tempranillo dominant blend with minor components of Graciano and Garnacha, the fruit is sourced from a biodynamically farmed single vineyard in the cool Lanciego zone within Rioja Alavesa. The grapes are crushed gently by foot before undergoing fermentation in large open wooden vats. Maturation takes place over 18 months in a combination of large oak casks and smaller barriques. A full bodied age-worthy style, Altos de Lanzaga shows impressive depth and concentration of fruit, with an alluring elegance of structure.
