About this wine
Two Hands Dave's Block Shiraz, McLaren Vale
Two Hands is a touchstone of exemplary shiraz from across South Australia’s best regions and sites. The Single Vineyard Series is a luxury selection that co-founder Michael Twelftree says capture the ‘X-factor’ of some of the country’s most esteemed vineyards. Dave’s Block is a treasured old vineyard perched high in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. The elevation allows for leisurely ripening of fruit.
Fruit is crushed and de-stemmed into stainless steel, and left on skins for ten days. It is bottled with minimal fining or filtration. Aromas of lavender, cherry, mocha, plum, and olive dance prettily from the glass. There is great generosity of fruit on the palate–all mulberry and blackberry, with velvety tannins.

Tyson Stelzer
From 51yo vines at 152m elevation. The exotic mood of Blewitt Springs is bolstered by the fragrant lift of (presumably) whole-bunch fermentation. Rosehip and Campari are the dominant theme, underlined by sappy, al dente tannins and tangy acidity. It demands time for its bunchiness to settle down, and holds the length and confidence to go the distance.

Choc-cherry scents, whiffs of sweet, turned earth, cedar, some fennel, liquorice, sea spray going on. Fresh feeling palate yet shows depth, dark berries, more of the choc and mocha thing going on, gummy tannins a little out of the range of the fruit but present. Decent length too. Feels a bit sinewy and raw, so stay tuned for potential.
