About this wine

Bollinger’s RD is an icon among préstige cuvée Champagnes. R.D stands for Récemment Dégorgé, (recently disgorged) and Bollinger was the first to produce an RD style, with the initial RD release from the legendary 1967 vintage. Since that time, Bollinger RD has garnered a strong following among wine connoisseurs. The combination of long ageing on lees followed by recent disgorgement offers the best of both worlds; immense complexity and delightful freshness. The 2002 vintage is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. The low dosage of 3-4g/l highlights the impeccable quality of the base wine.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Bollinger
Established in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger and Paul Renaudin, Bollinger is one of the most renowned Champagne houses in the world. From 1941 until 1977, the business was run by Madame Lily Bollinger who significantly expanded the Champagne house’s vineyard holdings. Today it is managed by her great-nephew, Ghislain de Montgolfier. Bollinger’s house style is rich, complex and muscular, producing Pinot-Noir dominated Champagnes with compelling depth and power and longevity.
