Oakridge Wines 864 Henk Aqueduct Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley
The 864 Henk Aqueduct Pinot Noir is bright, expressive, and aromatic. The nose and palate are awash with vibrant red fruits, layers of herb and spice, and a flint-like minerality. The finesse of this textural pinot noir offers a satiny-soft mouthfeel that is complex and deceptively powerful.
The Aqueduct block, within Henk Vineyard, planted in 2008 on Woori Yallock’s red volcanic soils, is north-facing at 240 metres. The vines of MV6 clone are farmed to yield 4.8 tonnes per hectare. Grapes are hand-picked and sorted to 80% destemmed and 20% whole bunch. Natural fermentation lasts three weeks before pressing into French oak barrels, 10% new. After malolactic fermentation, the wine rests on gross lees for 10 months, followed by 6 months in tank.
Representing the pinnacle of winemaking at Oakridge, the 864 range are high-scoring, limited-release, single-block wines that stand out internationally as exceptional varietal examples.

The Reserve style wines, labelled 864 and released in top vintages, are outstanding and comprise a Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
