About this wine

Generous, rich, sweetly fruited with fresh tangy acidity Cape Mentelle’s Zinfandel is a top example of the variety in Australia. Zinfandel was first brought to the estate from California in 1974. It’s propensity to millerandage ‘hen and chicken’, make Zinfandel a demanding variety to manage both in the vineyard and the winery. Some of the fruit for Cape Mentelle Zinfandel comes from old bush vines off the Wallcliffe vineyard.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Cape Mentelle

Cape Mentelle is best known for their Cabernet Sauvignon, but also produces a compelling range of premium wines including Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Zinfandel. The winery is accredited under the Winemakers Federation of Australia’s Entwine program for vineyards that operate using sustainable viticultural principles and practices.
