ABOUT THE WINERY
Castello di Ama
Castello di Ama is a family wine producer in the Chianti Classico district of Tuscany. The vineyard and winery was initially established by a group of families in the 1870’s in the beautiful hills of Chianti Classico near the village of Ama. Today the estate is run by the family of Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti. Castello di Ama owns 89 ha of vineyards spread over 5 valleys that surround Ama. The 65.38 hectares of vineyards registered with the Chianti Classico DOCG is situated at an altitude ranging between 390 and 530 meters above sea level on clay-limestone soils rich in texture providing minerality to the wines. The estate produces a number of wines including Chianti Classico DOCG, single vineyard Chianti Classico DOCG wines (Bellavista and Cassuccia), IGT Toscana “Super Tuscans” L'Apparita (Merlot, Canaiolo, Malvasia), Haiku (Sangiovese, Cabernet franc, Merlot), Il Chuiso (Sangiovese, Pinot Noir), Rosato (Sangiovese, Merlot), and Vin Santo.
