Gary Walsh
You often don’t have to say too much about Florita; it’s invariably good. Tight, stony, slight spiciness like ginger, a little floral. Very pure and refined, lovely crunch and energy on a long finish, offering a little pink grapefruit. All just so. Time will be very kind. An excellent release.

Mike Bennie
The Florita vineyard was established in 1962 by famed riesling maker Leo Buring. The Barry family acquired the esteemed site in 1986. Carrying on from the excellent 2022 Florita Riesling, this is an outstanding release. It has intensity, drive and a sense of precision with a serious line of granite and slate-like mineral character crystalline and brilliant through the wine. The perfume is enticing with apple, jasmine and warm slate scents in play. Flavours of green apple, ginger and pink grapefruit are a beautiful medley woven in tight layers through this compact and energetic wine. It feels decidedly delicious to drink now, an experience in some respects, but cellaring will surely yield exceptional rewards.
Jim Barry
Jim Barry, named after the eponymous founding wine maker, is one of the stalwart wineries of the Clare Valley. In 1959 the late Jim Barry purchased land near the township of Clare, replanting much of it to vineyard. Under the leadership of managing director Peter Barry and sons Tom and Sam Barry the brand has gone from strength to strength. Jim Barry is best known for its flagship Shiraz The Armagh, but also produces an impressive range of wines including Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from their vineyard holdings in the Clare Valley and Coonawarra.
