About this wine
New world Bordeaux: Te Mata and Penley Estate 12-pack - Save 60%
Consistently displaying savoury and red-fruited characteristics within the estate blends, Penley Estate Chertsey Cabernet Blend Coonawarra 2021 (RRP $75) is Penley's signature style. The integration of Merlot and Cabernet Franc adds depth and complexity. Notes of cherry, cassis, redcurrant, cardamom, and bay leaf enhance the experience. The palate is rich and plush, showcasing soft red fruit flavours enveloped by velvety tannins: Coonawarra class and more than a tip of the hat to Bordeaux.
Te Mata's Hawke's Bay estate is a prestigious winery with a rich history, producing some of New Zealand's most celebrated wines. If LANGTONS Classification crossed the Tasman, Te Mata Estate Coleraine Cabernet Merlot Hawkes Bay (RRP $165) would sit alongside Grange at its very pinnacle. A superlative wine in a near perfect vintage.
In this 12-bottle pack, you’ll find:
10 x Penley Estate Chertsey Cabernet Blend Coonawarra 2021 (RRP $75 per bottle)
2 x Te Mata Estate Coleraine Cabernet Merlot Hawkes Bay 2022 (RRP $165 per bottle)

Expert Review
Campbell Mattinson
Blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc. Matured in French oak, 30% new. Medium weight in the best of ways, complex throughout, textbook structure and noteworthy length. All the ducks are in a row here. Blackcurrant, peppercorns, dust and cedar with mint highlights. The web of tannin here, combined with the juiciness of the fruit, is exemplary. Penley Estate is on great form.
