Margaret River is known for its Bordeaux and Burgundian varieties, but the region’s secret weapon is that it does most wine well. This is true for Western shiraz. This Confidential comes from a highly respected producer that produces wines of consistently high quality. This 2022 shiraz shows bright red fruits, savoury dried herbs and warm spice. There’s a lick of good oak and a fine tannic grip to the finish. A very smart wine and a very smart buy. Even better by the dozen as this is one of those wines you could get used to.
