About this wine

Mt Difficulty Single Vineyard Mansons Farm Pinot Noir, Central Otago

Mansons Farm Pinot Noir is handcrafted in very limited quantities, this is its second release. Earthy, savoury, wild raspberry notes dominate, with background violet floral notes. Floral notes lift the red berry characters, that introduce the wine. These flow into a more densely sculptured mid-palate. The wine continues to build through the finish, and displays a lovely tension through persistent fine-grained tannins acidity and spicy red berry fruit.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Mt Difficulty
Established in 1992, Mt Difficulty was born out of a partnership between five vineyard owners in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago. The sub-region, strongly influenced by the presence of Mount Difficulty, has a unique and distinctly continental micro-climate characterised by low rainfall, large diurnal temperature variation and long cool autumns ideal for viticulture. Today the winery has 40 hectares of plantings including some of the oldest vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region planted to Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Chardonnay. Mt Difficulty produces several wines across a number of ranges including their estate Mt Difficulty Range, Single Vineyard Range and the Roaring Meg range designed for early drinking.
