About this wine
Two Hands Lily's Garden Shiraz, McLaren Vale
Michael Twelftree’s process-driven style of winemaking has successfully demonstrated regionality within Australian Shiraz for many years with the Garden Series. Carefully selected fruit from mainly Blewitt Springs and McLaren Flat in McLaren Vale, minimal fining and filtration and the use of French and American oak has produced a wine of richness and density that can be cellared for over a decade.

Richness of blue fruits and chocolate, a little beefy and saline, some gum leaf/mint in there also. Full-bodied, black and blue fruit, again pretty beefy, with some pressed flowers, grainy tannin, and a solid finish with some red fruits poking through. It’s a good wine, well-made, though perhaps a little foursquare in style.

Deep mulberry notes mark the nose of the 2018 Lily's Garden Shiraz. Flecks of mint, cedar and cola add depth and nuance on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is silky but firm, showing admirable concentration and lingering elegantly on the finish.

Supple, rich and harmonious, the 2019 Lily's Garden Shiraz is drinking beautifully already. Hints of eucalyptus and sage add interest to the mixed-berry fruit, while the medium to full-bodied palate is almost creamy in texture, finishing long and luxuriously silky. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.
