About this wine

This claret-style is typified by fresh cassis, violet aromas, fine grained tannins, minerally texture and underlying savoury oak. The wine comprises 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5 % each of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. After batch-vinification in open-fermenters, maturation follows in around 40% new and seasoned French oak barriques for 20 to 22 months.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Yeringberg
Yeringberg is a family owned vineyard in the Yarra Valley, renowned for producing elegant, age worthy wines. The historic Yeringberg was established in 1863 by Guillaume de Pury and ran until 1921. In 1969 Guill de Pury planted a 0.4 hectare vineyard on the grubbed-out old site. Since expanded in 1970, 1985 and 2000, the vines are planted on silty clay loams interspersed with buckshot gravels. Best known for their Cabernet blend, Yeringberg also produces fine, elegant examples of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
